I needed a replacement for an extremely expensive phone that had stopped working right soon after they came out with a newer model. Looked around checked reviews and settled on this phone. Sooooo glad that I did. It has all the bells and whistles works like a charm. I will stick with LG phones from now on.

I purchased an LG K51 smartphone about a month ago. It is my first smartphone so I realize some of my comments may be driven by lack of experience. Generally I like the phone. I chose this phone because of the generally high reviews 4s or 5s on the Verizon website. The battery life is good. The size is comfortable to hold although it is a bit heavier than I expected. I do wish Google was not such an integrated part of the device beyond the Android OS but I guess that is because of Google not LG. The biggest problem I have is with the touch-screen surface. The sensitivity of the screen seems to vary depeding on the app being used. For example in the Settings the screen is so sensitive that it reacts before I can even sense touching the screen with my finger. At the other end of the scale in the Phone app I can drag the Answer button 3-5 times before the call will connect. A lot of the time the call hangs up before I can get the phone to answer the call. I get similar results with the Ignore button. Speaking of the Phone app the Answer or Ignore buttons should not need be dragged to deal with a call. A simple tap of the button should do the trick. In my opinion it would be far easier than trying to drag the buttons. Tapping here would also be similar to tapping the End button to end a call. Also the Ignore button should simply drop the ingoming call rather than sending the call to voice-mail. It is a waste of time to have to Ignore the incoming call then to have to deal with the resulting voice-mail. If there is a need to send a call to voice-mail then a third button eg. Decline should be added to simply drop the incoming call without going to voice-mail. These design changes would help as well: 1 The status bar at the top should be larger. The characters are so small they are nearly unreadable. The colors used should provide more contrast. 2 Move the speaker from the bottom of the phone to the top. The sound will be closer to the users ear. Not to mention it is less likely to be covered when holding the phone. 3 Separate the SIM card holder from the microSD card holder. There is too much risk of damaging or losing the SIM card when dealing with the SD card.
